I get a message in spool 'Waiting in Host Spooler' when I tried to print label.

And I was suggested following:

2. We sometimes get this after a printer has been switched off then back on again. Check the print status in User System. You may need to stop and restart the print daemon.

What is print daemon?

How can I start and restart?

THanks,

AP

Hi,

These could be reasons, will help you in solving the problem.

1. The message 'Waiting in Host Spooler' shows you that SAP hasn't finished processing the job yet. Sometimes there are other print jobs running in the queue that haven't finished.

2. We sometimes get this after a printer has been switched off then back on again. Check the print status in User System. You may need to stop and restart the print daemon.

3. Ask your BASIS to perform cleanup job. this could be another reason.

Feel free to revert back.

Printer Daemon :

Short for line printer daemon/line printer remote, a printer protocol that uses TCP/IP to establish connections between printers and workstations on a network. The technology was developed originally for BSD UNIX and has since become the de facto cross-platform printing protocol.

The LPD software typically is stored in the printer or print server and the LPR software must be installed in the client device. The LPR client sends the print request to the IP address of the LPD printer/server, which in turn queues the file and prints it when the printer becomes available.

I would be advice to take the help of basis Guy and do its clean job clean.
