Performance issues with OLE_FLUSH_CALL

We are using SAP Microsoft WORD Integration within CRM (Software Component BBPCRM release 400) and are experiencing severs performance issues (e.g. 4 minutes to load a Microsoft Word document within the SAP GUI (patch level 53).

The symptons of the performance problems are the use of OLE functions calls within the ABAP code. Further analysis has proven that multiple calls to function OLE_FLUSH_CALL are accounting for the excessive time to complete.

Has anyone experienced similar issues? If so, what action did you take to resolve these issues?

We are experiencing perfromance issues during Document Linking process in Solution Manager. Performance trace pointed to the same FM.
