Pattern button in ABAP EDITOR ECC 6.0 EHP6

Friends.

I know this is a question asked a lot of times. But I think something changed in this release.

Since 46C, I  used Pattern Button in ABAP editor, so I could select structure types to do declarations in ABAP editor.

The problem today: When I click this option, 9th option (Structured Data Object, with fields from structure) and choose a transparent table, and click ENTER, the system give error message sayng to type the FM name...

I selected the 9th option. But The first option continues selected/marked. So two options become selected same time.

I think it's a little bug in the system.

I know most of you will tell me to use Ctrl+Y to select fields direct from SE11/table copy and past in EDITOR, but I want to use this option I always used until now. And Why Pattern button exists if does not work any more (to declare structures) ?

thanks.

Glauco

Hi Glauco,

You might have missed but the ninth option (Structured data type) has two sub-options. You might have selected the sub option only ( i.e. either 'with fields from structure' OR 'with TYPE of struct' ) and not the ninth option which is also need to be selected. So by default the first option i.e. CALL FUNCTION remains selected.

Thanks

Hey, I think you are right. I never noticed this before but now when I did, I saw that there are two radio button groups. One contains all the options other than the two for structured data objects and the other contains the two options for structured data objects. And, the first group takes precedence over the second one i.e. whatever is selected from the first group goes into effect.

Hi Kumar.

I agree with you. I have used this option a lot in 46C but now it has this bug.

I'll look for a SAP Note. If I find, I'll answer here.

thanks.

Hi Glauco,

Y

ou might have missed but the ninth option (Structured data type) has two sub-options. So by default the first option i.e. CALL FUNCTION remains selected.

If you want to use any of the two structured data objects , you first need to select

"structured data object" radio button, then you have to select any of the one radio button.

Thanks

Hi Manu B.

About you have said: "(...) you first need to select "structured data object" radio button (...)".

Here (ECC 6.0 EHP6), this "option" (structured data object) does not exist. Here, it is only a text (without a option field to select/mark). But there are the two sub-options to select.

So, when we try to select a sub-option, the first "CALL FUNCTION" remains selected together.

So, it seems to be a bug.

OBS.: This is a BUG. This screen is not in the standard program SAPLLOCAL_EDT1 screen 2520. This option is mask5 field. I saw in other system here in ECC 6.0 EHP4. And this options exists there. But this field/option mark5 left in EHP6 release.

OBS.2: I will open an OSS to SAP to solve this little problem. Because I did not find any SAP NOTE to solve this.

thank you very much.

Hi Sravanth kandi. This sap-note is in German.

I was looking for sap notes in English. So I did not find it before.

Thank you very much.

After implementing it, I give feedback here if it works fine.

Thank you.

Hi friend.

I'm waiting the other department answer.

But I see some more things in the sap note. Here we need only put back the option button MARK5 in that screen.

I'll give feedback after that. It can take a long...sorry.
