is driver program also compulsory for printing the smart form using output type?

no the driver program is not compulsory for smartform, but yes it is compulsory for sapscript.

You can write your code in smartform window itself.

No need for driver program for smartform,its not mandatory, u can write in the program lines of the smartform..
