online meens, that the according object can be executed in dialog mode. batch / background meens that the according object can only be executed in background / batch.

Hi,

I think Module pool program is also called as Online Program. Not sure of this... Please correct me if I am wrong.

Hi Suresh,

Online program means program which could be run into Foreground mode. Batch programs means programs run in background mode i.e. these programs are scheduled to run in background.

Online program run in foreground..

U can see the program running in dialog mode and interact with the program..

Background program are scheduled to run in background with some variants
