need help in dialog programming

Hello gurus,

I have started my career in ABAP and many questions are bothering me.Would need support from all of u there...

I am studying Dialog programming but not able to get the exact flow of how it actually works.I am following a book titled Advanced ABAP by Gareth B ruyn and Lyfareff.

Still it is not getin clear...can someone help me with that...Step by step procedure to do dialog programming...I am learning on version 4.7...

Also, If we have a field name how can we find out in which tables that same field is present..i.e.how can we search for the different tables for the same field...

Go to se38 and give demodynpro and press F4.

YOu will get a list of demo module pool programs.

Press F1 on that field and take the Technical Help it will display the dataelement name

and use the where used list of that dataelement

you will get number of tables

so depending on the application you have to look after for the related tables

Hi Jimmy

As per your first request, you have been referred to many sites.

For you second question, goto se11. Give the field name in the data element and press display. Now you have a button in the toolbar called 'Where is' (icon with 3 lines originating from a point) Click on that and it display all the tables and structure where that field is used.

For your reference, you can refer The Official ABAP reference by Horst Keller chapter 25. This will give a very good idea on dialog programming.

Hi Jimmy,

As per the other experts, you can go through the links to know each and everything about DYNPROs. If you need simple one, then please let me know.

If want to see all the tables, where a particular field is used then

1) go to the corrsponding table and place the cursor on desired field & click on '<b>Where used list [next to the Activate button]</b>' or you can use <b>CTRL + SHIFT + F3</b>.

2) You will get the popup window with list of check boxes there you need to select the <b>DB tables</b>. and press Enter.
