Minimum requirements for ABAP in Eclipse

Hi,

I was wondering if our systems meet the requirements for using Eclipse and abandoning that awful SE80 transaction forever (bear in mind I'm a Java developer temporarily working on ABAP, so you can imagine what I think about developing on SE80 vs. developing on Eclipse).

We have two development systems each one linked to its landscape:

First system H:

SAP ECC 6.0 Kernel release 720 Patch level 401

SAP_BASIS    701    0013    SAPKB70113

Second system P:

SAP ECC 6.0 Kernel release 720 Patch level 401

SAP_BASIS    700    0027    SAPKB70027

Do someone of those systems meet the minimum requirements?

Is there an ADT version (maybe older than the latest) that could work with these systems?

Thank you,

Pietro

Hi Pietro,

unfortunately the two systems does not support ABAP Tools in eclipse.

You need at least SAP_BASIS 703 SP4.

As the backend part of ADT potentially decreases the stability of the ABAP Workbench we will  not downport the ADT tools for lower releases.

Sorry and Kind Regards,

Thomas.

Hi Thomas,

thank you for your reply.

I might be mistaken, but I've heard that there are some sort of "equivalences" between minor revisions and service packs? Is that so? (e.g. 7.01 SP 1 == 7.00 SP4)
