Hi,
In a selection screen i have given payment date as mandatory.
Now I need to pop up a message when that payment date entered is not in the table payr.
The error or message format should be
Payment date &p_date& is not maintained in the table PAYR.
But in the message im getting &p_date& instead it should be the date entered inthe payment date parameter.
How can i achieve this.
Pls provide some pointers.
Thanks.

Hello Depthi,
First of all use proper subject, I am observing your posts from long time.
you need to maintain the message like this in message class..
> 001 Payment date & is not maintained in the table PAYR
now while calling use like this.
message e001(zz) with p_date.
the way you are using will work in scripts , not here..

hi,
use message class, and use the generic meesage that is message with &&&&.
then using text symbols call the message..
For ex : message e001(zmm) with 'Payment date' p_date ' is not maintained in the table PAYR.
if u want u can store 'Payment date' as Text-001 .
'is not maintained in the table PAYR' as text-002.
and message as
Message e001(zmm) with text-001 p_date text-002.
Thanks.,

Your message declaration would be
001 Payment data & not maintained
then your message call would be
Message 001(ZZ) with p_date
