Message type in IDOC

Hi Gurus,

Please tell me .....

Through we81.....how can be assigned message type to IDOC.......

1. either it isprovided by client so that we can create new idoc type that provide by client....

2. or it is seperately created in sap screen......

Hi,

We won't use we81 to attach message type with idoc type or basic type ... we use WE82 for that..Message type is nothing but tells what kind of information you are passing to your partner.

If you want to create a new message type , you can do it in WE81.. the name depends on you give or the client specifies.

You will get lot more information in SCN reagrding the message types and idocs, please go through them to understand better.
