Hi all,

In Transaction WE41 for Outbound processs codes, there are 3 details are to be maintained.

1. Message type

2. Message Code

3. Message Function

Can anyone explain the usage of 'Message Function' in this ? And where it is to be maintained.

Thanks in Advance.

Regards,

Vivek K

Hi,

Logical message function

Use

In the partner profiles, the business process is identified via the logical message (message type, code and function). The message type is mandatory, the message code and message function are optional and can be specified by the user.

If a message function is entered in the partner profiles, the external system must maintain the field accordingly during IDoc inbound processing.

This is mainly used to filter or make it a specific to that particular partner.

Not extensively used.

Its also like onse of the filter criteria.

Hi Sasi,

Our case is that the PORT is Internal.

A sales order is created from a PO.

So the outbound of the PO is changed to the inbound of the SO i think.

Can you let me know where to check the message function in this case ?

Are you using diffrent IDOC Types for the same message.

If NO, Please dont maintain massage code and message Function fields.

If at all you maintain them same should be reflected at the Inbound side.

Thanks

Shital
