Hi,

In PP module what are the materials treated as direct materials and indirect materials.

Hi,

A material that is directly used in the production of products and that as manufacturing costs affects the value of the finished product.

Types of direct materials are raw materials, operating supplies, and components.

Direct materials are usually subject to inventory management.

As opposed to indirect materials, or MRO (maintenance, repair, and operations) materials, which are not an integral part of a product.

Hi Shipla,

Depending on the production process the materials will be categorized.

Few materials which are used as direct material in a production process can be used as indirect in some other production process.
