materialid table not found in ECC5.0

hi experts,

i was using MATERIALID table in ECC6.0 system to get external long material number. but when i was trying to use this table in ECC5.0 system....error occured the "table MATERIALID doesnot exists".why is it so?

A wild guess would be: maybe it was introduced with ECC 6.0?

I think Thomas is correct...my system shows NetWeaver 7.01 in 2005. Is this table part of MDM? If so, would need to look at when MDM became available.
