Material BOM creation

Hi,

I have a requirement to create material BOMs using an input file. Could anybody give me pointers about how to go about it? Whether to use a BAPI or BDC.. what should the input file look like..

RCSBI040 is the program. There is documentation with it. If you are using LSMW, it is object 0030 and method 0001 or 0004.

Do you have a sample input file? I have a excel spreadsheet with the BOM data that needs to be converted to the required file format. Should the fields be separated by comas or space in each record? Also, what should record "0"(struct BGR00) have in it? I appreciate all your help.

I am not near the system right now, but I will see if I can give you a file.

But, I would like to ask if you can use LSMW for this purpose?
