Masking Sensitive Data Fields

We are trying to find a way to mask sensitive data fields in display mode only for Customer master and Vendor Master data. I have tried to find discussions but mostly see ways to control in Dual-Mode, which isn't what we need.

Any thoughts?

If this is for display purposes only, then I'd sugest a variant transaction where the fields can be made completely invisible. Or just create an SAP query for the fields the users are allowed to see. It might be even more convenient for them than using standard transactions.
