Logical system is created by SALE
Participating systems in a distributed environment must have a unique id. The name of the logical system is used as the unique id. This LS will be a sender in outbound interface and receiver in inbound interface. In the SAP
sense of word, a logical system corresponds to a client.
To create a logical system: Expand the tree Logical System
Execute Define Logical System
Click on push-button NEW ENTRIES
Enter the name & description of the logical system and
save.
Next step is to allocate the respective logical systems
to it client. Assignments must be unique (that is, a
client may only be assigned to one logical system). This
can be done through transaction SCC4 or by executing
Assign Logical System to Client.
Through BD64 WE CREATE THE DISTRIBUTION model
The applications communicating with each other in
distributed systems are specified in the distribution
model. The systems involved in the distribution must know
which messages are to be distributed. They must know
where the messages are coming from and where they are
going. This information is specified in the distribution
model. The distribution is based on the distribution
model and is directly controlled by it. For each message
flow you can specify filters to specify which data is
sent to which receivers. Each model view is maintained in
the central system and is distributed to other systems
from here.
The following sections show how to model a message flow
between your two logical systems. We are going to
distribute material master data from one logical system
to another.
Modelling involves maintaining model views of the
distribution model. To create a new distribution model
view: Logon to the logical system from which you want to send
materials to another system (sending system e.g LOGSYS210)
Execute transaction BD64.
Select Create model view. Enter the name and a
description for it.
Position the cursor on the model view and select Add
Message Type.
A dialog box appears. Enter the logical system name of
the sender e.g LOGSYS210 and the receiver e.g LOGSYS260 and the
message type MATMAS.
Save the distribution model.

Hi
A logical system (LS) is the representation of an R/3 or
external system for distribution of data to and from the
R/3 system. Every R/3 client used for ALE or EDI has to
have a base logical system associated with the client.
This LS becomes the sender for outbound messages, and a
receiver for inbound messages.
