Hello community,
I have a question about licensing non-developer users in a developer system. Basically I have 20 users that need to have the authorization S_DEVELOP. All actions from this authorization will be performed on a this developement system. These users don't have a license key (SSCR) and they are currently classified as Professional.
My question is: Can I keep this professional classification or does that need to be Developer?
Thank you!

A long time ago, they had to have a developer license. I don't know now. Answer from 2015 here.

in out system no problem - many users have s_develop ... (even unprofessionells 😉 )

I'd argue that even some developers hardly qualify as "professionals" but that's another subject. 🙂

Given the current crop, I'd argue for "most".
But I'm old and grumpy.

Please direct any SAP licensing questions to your account representative or other SAP officials. Only they can give you accurate information that would be applicable to your specific installation.
From my personal experience, the developer license should be needed only for the developers registered on the SAP portal, the role assignment should not matter. This is just IMO and is not official or legally binding information.
Edit: there is a brief (by SAP standards 🙂 20 pages) official licensing guide but it does not mention developer licenses at all.
