-1) to define how to upload the data: which method?

Std BDC, BAPI, BDC recording....

-2) to define the structure of the file;

-3) to define the link between the file fields and the structures fields

-4) to define validation and convertion routines

-5) To run the report to read the file;

-6) To run the report to convert the file;

-7) To run the method to upload the data

Hi ,

There are many option.

u can make use of BAPI, IDOC or recording.

First u ll have to create a data file in excel (plese note tht the colomn width to be the same as the field length in SAP) on ur frontend.and save it as tab delimited.then go to tcode lsmw then create a proj sub proj and an object .On the next screen excecute the steps.sTEP 1 u will have to select a method by which u want to post the data BAPI/IDOC/Recording.select it create a source structure with fields maintain relationship and mapping.in one of the steps u ll have to upload the file from ur front end.
