When i m selecting any value greater than 2.00 for L3 row shown in screen it gives the same error.
also one Q, if it gives error for L3 then y not for L1 also???

Hi Nikita,
If you are selecting any value > 2 for L3 row, increase 'Total table width' also correspondingly.
It gives error for L3 only now (as it is the last line type defined)
Once you correct L3 and activate, you will get similar error for L2 and L1 also

The width of your template is set to 2cm (up by the table painter button)... Change it to 7cm.

Hi Nikita
I've managed to replicate your issue on one of our development systems. It appears that only the last line of the template lines are validated for width. This might be a known technical issue within Smartforms (I haven't looked for an OSS note) All your lines should error as the width of the template is 2cm. If you remove the L3 line, the smartform will then error on L2.
The resolution is either to increase your template width to 7cm or reduce your line widths to 2 cm.

Hi Nikita,
In your example,
Width of line type L3 = 7cm
Total table width = 2cm (value in 'Width' to left of 'Table Painter' button)
Suppose you are defining 2 columns of 1cm each, you will be specifying as
Cell/Column 1; Unit; Cell/Column 2; Unit
1 cm 1 cm
'Width of line type' would be 1cm+1cm = 2cm
Since there is only 1 column, it should be specified as
Cell/Column 1; Unit
2 cm
'Total table width' always remain the same as you specified.
You will have to manually change it if you need to increase it.
Incase you need to fit a wider text, increase 'Total table width' to 7cm
Cell specification can remain as is.
Cell/Column 1; Unit
7 cm
'Width of line type' = Sum of Width of individual cells/columns
And it should be always equal to 'Total table width'

Hi Nikita
Based on your screenshot, you have defined the width of your template as 2.00 CM only
So, this will not allow you more than 2.00 CM ...

Hi,
The template resides in the bounds of the total width of the template. In the template layout the lines cannot exceed the total width which is 2cm in your case to accommodate the 7 cm line type you must increase the width to 7 cm.

Hi Nikita,
Simple, just change width as 7.00 CM instead of 2.00 CM.

Hi,
Just trying to explain the error. See the Page has windows (Window height and width visible in the layout editor and also when you see the windows node). Now the thumb rule is
Windows cannot be wider or longer than pages.
The templates resides in a particular window. Again the rule is Template (in your case 7 cm ) or tables width cannot be bigger that windows width as it has to fit in the window.
Finally the lines length and height wise in the template cannot be bigger than the template as then it would not fit into it. So, going by this understanding please increase your window width so that its more or equal to template width but be careful that it should not exceed the page width.
Hope this helps to get an idea of what's gone wrong.
Cheers,
Arindam

nitika,
try to understand the basic concept.
Tempelate is placed inside a window,
So, Window height must be graeter than Tempelate height.
Window height> tempelate height.
Firslty,
u should change the height of L1 >> from 5.00 CM to 5.00MM.
your total tempelate height = 5.00 +5.00+5.00 = 15 MM.
your window height should be >= 15 MM or 1.5 CM.
in this screen-shot i have shown where to change window height.
Revert back if u still feel any confusion
One more thing, in your screen-shot u can see i have marked your window CADD,
u should drag it and increase its height (atleast 1.5cm or more than that).
Drag it from bottom right corner (as shown) to increase its size .
or u can place it somewhere, but remember its size must be greater than
ur template size i.e 15MM.

Hi Nikita,
Increase Width of Main Window as 7.00 CM your problem will be solved.
and maintain all in CM instead of MM

Basically every element must be smaller or equal in width to their master node, so line width ≤
template width ≤ window width ≤ page width.
Also did you know that smartform can handle standard
Address nodes.
