Issue in CO01 while saving after modification

Dear Experts,

Hope every one is good.

My requirement is to remove the F4 help and field validation from tcode CO01 on field PERSON as shown in the attached screen shot.
I am able to so do.
Issue is after saving, I am unable to see the values passed to the field in change and display mode. Even if I press BACK button and then come to the screen where I passes values, I found the field empty.

Please suggest any solution for this issue.

Sorry to state the obvious, but there must be a bug in your modification! What exactly did you change?

I can't see a 'Person' field on your screenshot either...

Thanks for your reply.
I have done the attached modifications.

Actually requirement is to Disable F4 Help and Field Validation from Field PERSON and rename it as MACHINE to make it a free text field so that user can enter free text.

Please have a look on modifications and suggest what I am missing.
