Interface between vb and sap

Hi,

My client is looking for an interface designed in VB for Picking list. The process is like this- In sap delivery will be created and the delivery no will be scanned by the VB Developed scanner and they should be able to get the picking data. After picking, the datas should be updated in the SAP tables.

Since i am from functional background and my abaper is on leave, can anybody please explain me through which tool we can map the scenario and what are functions involved in the same.
