Insert space value in bdc for a batch characteristic

Hello Experts,

I am designing a bdc for uploading batch search strategy using VCH1. I am facing a problem while doing my bdc. I need to change the status of the batch to Released and Not Released. When doing the recording, the screen where i specify values for this characteristic asks for the characteristic name and characteristic value. Bot the name and value are internal names and values. The internal value for Released is space and for Not Released in 'X'. I am unable to specify space during the recording and it does nt seem to record ' '. There is no F4 help available too. Please suggest how do i record this.

I'm facing the exact same issue. Can you please tell me what you did to resolve this issue?

I'm trying to change LOBM_ZUSTD to be set to active in my BDC.

Hello Tom,

When you do the recording there is an option in SHDB which says 'not a batch input session'. If you check that you will get the actual screen while recording. You can make use of F4 help or you can enter the description directly say Released; or Not Released instead of X and space for this bdc.

Thanks for getting back to me.

I am now getting a strange error that I'm missing data for a screen, but that screen is not even in my recording.

What ctu_params are you sending?

When I am recording, I am selecting the following options:

Synchronous

No CATT

Default Size

Not a Batch input Session

My ctu_params are:

dismode = 'N'.    "Background Processing

updmode = 'S'.   "Synchronous Updating

racommit = ' '.

Hello Tom,

It is not enough to record by saying not a batch input session alone. If u can check the structure for ctu_params there will be a parameter for not a batch input session. You need to set that in your code to 'X' and thts when the recording will work as expected.
