User exit is provided by SAP if the customer feels that he needs to modify something.As we all know that the scenario depends upon various factor.So if anything other than standard is met during business process you need to modify it.So in the modification you can write code just as the normal ABAP coding.The things may depend on the application usages.Which can be sorted out only when it you using those exits.It is recommended that User exit be the last option.There are many application specific user exit.So coding also has to be done in consideration of keeping those things in mind.
