whether an outbound idoc can be sent to the same system(same client).

Hello,

YES. The IDoc can be sent to the Same System / Client. The Only thing that we need to take care of is to set the same system as sender & Receiver in the Distribution Model.

Yes you can. Maintain the ALE Cofig Partner Profile and DM Accordingly.
