Hi,

A custom IDOC Type is created more than 8 Chars and in Outbound processing MASTERIDOCCREATE FM the EDIDC checks for IDOC type Char 8. Will this effect the processing. As I understand EDIDC table does not store the IDOC type. Please help.

Regards,

Tim

Hi Tim

As far as know 8-character restriction applies for versions 4.0 and older.

We have IDOC types whose names are longer than 8 characters.

So if I am using the IDOC type more than 8 chars long this would not affect in processing at EDIDC-IDOCTYP. My IDOC type is a customized IDOC and I am currently working in Version 4.7 620. Please let me know.

Regards,

Tim

Hi

EDIDC-IDOCTP contains the IDOC type. The check for char 8 length is done for IDOCs of version lesser than 4.0
