IDoc segment extension - no component type in data dictionary

We are building IDoc segment types in a new ECC 6.0 system using transaction WE31. This was done in a 4.7 system successfully. The new fields are EDI compliant and all CHAR types.

In 4.7 non-unicode, the corresponding segment type in the data dictionary shows the data element (component type) and the field descriptions.

In ECC 6.0 unicode, the segment type does not show the component type in the data dictionary. Because of this, no field descriptions are shown.

What would cause the data dictionary display to only show the DATA TYPE and not the COMPONENT TYPE?

We are facing a similar issue in our ECC 6.0 environment after upgrade, are you able to share the resolution? I know it is going back too far...picking your memory..

You may try of changing the segment types related to SAP standard..
