Hi,

I am ABAP developer. I have worked on ABAP but I do not have any knowledge in data transfer technique like IDOC,ALE,EDI.

I am a new learner in these techniques. I have taken online SAP server but it has only one client.

I want to know if it is possible to learn IDOC with only one system with a single client?

What are the options /scenarios of learning IDOCs in my case.

Hi Pooja,

You can design Idoc structures and processing FMs in a single system. As there is no other system linked to it, outbound idocs will be generated but would directly go in failed status (probably status 29). Also for inbound, you would have to create idoc directly in the system in WE19 tcode for testing, you can however test processing FMs of both inbound and outbound idocs.
