how to upgrade objects

Hi

I am a new person tp upgrade project. We r upgrading from SAP 4.6c to ECC 6.0 version.

I want to know how to upgrade smart forms, scripts, Function modules , Function groups, Data elements , Domains, User exits , Tables etc.

If anyone have worked in upgrade projects, can u pls share these things with me.

Its very urgent.

I am expecting ur replies .

hi Uma,

theoretically everything is upgraded automatically

practically it means that users have to test all the processes throughoutly and report all problems to you (i. e. if something works differently as before). Problems can arise fro example, when you use a standard FM in your Z program and the standard FM was changed between versions.

One important transaction is SPAU, you have to go through all changes here and act accordingly. Other transaction in this are is SPDD for Dictionary Objects.

Hi,

U won't get that many changes in smart forms, scripts, Data elements , Domains, User exits , Tables .

u will get the changes in programs,module pool programs,BDC'S,function mdoules.

Generally after upgrading u have to fix the synatx errors and unicode errors.the upgration of programs,scripts is done by basis people.Ur work comes after all the objects are sent to upgarde version.

What i am coming to say is, What will be the impact on upgraded objects?

Actually we r going for 4.6c to ECC 6.0.

Could u pls send me the detail list of the impact on the upgraded objects.?

What could be the approach from an ABAPer.

ie.,,After upgradation what else we (ABAPers) have to do to make the objects to run perfectly in ECC 6.0?

Hi Uma,

Recently i inovled in upgrade project. Our project also same like 4.6 to ecc6.

Most of the times u will get syntax errors in reports and includes. In function modules you have to replace the function module in ECC6. For ex 4.6 having the POPUP_TO_MESSAGE or POPUP_TO_DECIDE , we will replace these function modulews with POPUP_TO_CONFIRM in ECC6.

If your project will go through unicode check you will get lot of syntax erors.
