Hi.....

1. Goto SE80....

2. Select package from drop down list...

3. Enter name with Z

4. Give following inputs...

>Short Description

>Applic. Component

>Software Component

>Transport Layer

5. And mention this package name while saving ur object

or

6. If you already saved ur object in other package

through Object directery entry you can reassign that object to this package....

Hi,

There a re 2 ways to create a package SE21 and SE80.

In simple words, Package is just like a Folder in Windows...we create different folders for different files.

In SAP, we create a package to store whatever custom development we do and save them under a Package.

Use HOME as Software components which is for Custom developments

Do not select Main package checkbox, and Package not extendable.

In Transport Attributes section -

Transport layer determines whether the object stored under this package can be trasnported to other systems or not.

Usually this layer is created by basis system and has next system. e.g. QA/Test/Integration system.

So, based on this you can select the Transport layer.

Hope this helps...

plz reward if useful.

thanks,

dhanashri.

Welcome to SDN, and try typing "how to create package" into the search box on the top right, you'll be amazed just how many times this exact same questions has been answered already.
