How to convert specific customizing table into application table?

Hello all,

A specific table has been created in customizing table (X - Maintenance table).

Data has been input in this table.

Customizing table was an error now we want it as an application table.

Then we changed:

1. Customizing -> Application

2. APPL2 into APPL0

But when I use maintenance table (SM30) SAP asked me to create an order.... We have now an application table which think to be a customizing table....

I do not have right to generate table maintenance. Do you think that asking new screen for table maintenance will solve this problem or must we delete and create again this table with good application type?

Do you mean when you use SM30, it asks for an transport request?

I think you'll need to regenerate the table maintenance generator & check! Afaik application tables should not ask for transport requests during maintenance. Imho, appl. tables should store master & transactional data & their contents should not be transportable!

Let me know your thoughts.

Are you allowed to SOBJ transaction, here you can change the transport field.

Hi,

You can directly change the Delivery class from Customizing to Application. You should also once again delete and recreate the table maintenance via Utilities-> Table Maintenance Generator.

Also, note that in case of Customizing tables, in table maintenance, the recording routine is not available for the user while in case of Application tables, user must manually select the recording routine as in whether to prompt the user for the transport request after inserting/updating/deleting entries.

In that Case Try regenerating the Table maintainance generator.It works.

Hi David,

Goto the table in changemode and utilities --->table maintain generator.

1) Change the Radio button to Standard recording routine.

2) Environment--->Maintainnace objects--->Change-->it will give you the popup--->Press ok-->it will goto SOBJ.

3) Change the Category to APPL, transport to automatic transport and Adjustment to Automatic audjustable.

4) Check the consistency and save.
