GUI_UPLOAD error when reading PDF

Hi,

I am using GUI_UPLOAD to read a PDF and store it against a material number. When I go into MM03 to view all the attachments it shows that it is there but when I try to open it an error appears stating 'There was an error opening this document. The file is damaged and could not be repaired.' I have done the same process with other types of documents and it works fine. The problem is only for PDF. Any assistance in this would be truly appreciated.
