grtting problem in BAPI_MATERIAL_MAINTAINDATA_RT Error : Lock error

Hi gurus,

I am using BAPI_MATERIAL_MAINTAINDATA_RT BAPI for material creation for material creation but i am getting one error

Characteristics profile has been locked .

but before running my BAPI program nothing is locked in SM12 but after executing that bapi its automatically locked i am unable to understand that problem so can anybody tell me why i am getting this error in my BAPI its i have done lots of RND on that but nothing i found

so help me in this regards

Thnx it resolved actully sd category should be norm and functional person defined samm

Hi,

This might be because we r trying to create and update the Characteristics profile of same material. I am not sure if this works for u. But give a try.

First create material. COMMIT AND WAIT. Then create Characteristics profile after the COMMIT using material change BAPI. This may work for u.
