Hi,
Is there a function module available for the conversion of Gender to the SAP Standard (1 : male, 2: female, 3 : unknown)
Example:
lv_var1 = 'Male'
lv_var2= 'Female'
lv_var1 = 'M'
lv_var2= 'F'
lv_var5 = ''
After the conversion:
lv_var1 = '1'
lv_var2= '2'
lv_var1 = '1'
lv_var2= '2'
lv_var5 = '3'

This is not working for me!
The result should be 1 or 2. The result of this function modules gives the long text?

The result of this FM would be : "Female", "Male", ...
I know you need the inverse, so you can take advantage of this FM to achieve your requirement.
Regards.

Will be faster to write it fresh yourself.
A SAP Standard routine may need to know Language scenario's etc.
If you want this solved today, would recommend you write your own code.

Yes, title is funny indeed. I HAD to open it!
Well, this is ABAP forum, so is there any reason you can't open data element in SE11 and see if there is a conversion function available? Or at least give us a technical name? Not every ABAPer is intimate with HR (I assume) module.

From the news these days, it seems like more and more HR departments will be asking about gender conversions in SAP...
