can anybody explain what is the term functional supervisor related to and how can we retrive this info.

functional supervisor is like manager.

you can pass to HRP1001: the position of employee to objid and otype as 'S' , sclas as 'S', rsign as 'A' and relat as 'ZFG' you will get sobid field populated with functional supervisor.

i hope this helps you out.
