Now a days technical person should have idea about functional module ,atleast basic idea.
If you are working on production support or some thing related to immediate development,then this type of work,you should have good idea about business req.
if you are working on implementation project then you have good time to learn.
bottom line would be we should know basic's
Thanks

No, he can't because you can't ask people to do your work...It's forbidden on SDN...

hi
good
hi
good
1-->Yes
2-->This makes the difference between the experience and an inexperience people,yes if y ou r a fresher and joined in a comp than seniors ll help you to understand the functional specs but as far as experience candidate as concern he must have some idea how is business runs in a comp in various domains than only he can able to understand the FS and that helps him/her to develop a object.
thanks

Hi,
I agree with Mr.Seshu and Mr.Mrutyunjaya.
Not only in SAP, generally functional knowledge is very important for Technical People. At least understanding of basic flow is must.
Especially in SAP, being a Technical Person, if you have functional knowledge, no need to depend fully on functional consultants for developments. Just an overview is enough to understand what functional person requires. Also you can deliver much better than what the functional person or client expects.
Being an MBA Graduate in Software Development for almost 7 years, I find myself in a better position in understanding Business Requirements and converting them into Objects. You will be able to analyse the issues in many aspects before deciding on development.
Functional Knowledge definitely makes lot of difference.
