As an abaper do we need know about configuaration of functional modules like sd and mm ..?

Hi,

it is not necessary to know all customizing settings, but you should know the business process in the modules. That will help you a lot to develop business requirements (eg. to understand what you see on the screen and why and how tables are linked together).
