What are the function modules to upload a excel file to SAP

Hello,

There are several FM but I would recommend to upload with the traditional FM ws_upload...it is faster, the other ones are very slow.

You can use FM - ALSM_EXCEL_TO_INTERNAL_TABLE

See the example code :

Hello Krish,

Yes ,you can upload from your desktop file to SAP R/3 client system.

if you use FM's ,then this will work only foreground ,it will not work in background.

normally you will upload from c floder or desktop..

if you want to upload in background then file should be in Application server then file will be located at AL11 Transaction

here they keep in one of the directory.

for background upload's ,you need to use Open dataset command.
