error in lsmw

Hi,

I am uploading data into R/3 using LSMW . But i am struck at one step READ DATA .

when i am executing the step it gives error message saying that " UNABLE TO WRITE TO THE FILE

ZPROJECT_ZSUBPROJECT_ZOBJECT.LSMW.READ .

actually this file is exist in radio button *IMPORTED DATA *

I am not doing anything wth the imported data i am just using the LEGACY DATA button to upload the file.

Please helping in rectifying this issue.

HI

May I know for which transaction u r uploading the data.

For some of the standard programs u have difine the Logical File path in transaction 'FILE'.

Thanks for your reply.

i have tried with my own and with few standard transactions too like mm01, xd01 etc for any transaction the issue issue is reflected. so i am not able to carry on. Please help me.

Hi ,

try to give a small file name,some times it will not be able to read the wholename of the file.

Please let me know if still need any help.

thanks for your reply.

yes my file name is small one only it has just six characters and even i tried changing the file name to again bit smaller and still the same issue is reflected.

once i went into change mode of IMPORT DATA and given the file name as C:/ unfortunately and at that time it popped up saying operating system error. From that day onwards this issue is reflected and hence i am not able to do any lsmw.

Please help me.

I am uploading the data from presentation server only that is from my desktop.

check if the file is read only....this u can check with the help of a netwrking guy....

Hi

You can try this, just create a custom file with extension .read & check if its not read only. Now give this file name when it asks you the .read & .convert file names. And yes, one more thing, make sure you are doing all the previous steps perfectly fine (not missing anything like specify & assign files & associating the recording structure with the file). Try if this can help you

In the Imported Data change the file name and the try again.
