error in LSMW

Hi,

In LSMW getting error as below:

Error in the ABAP Application Program

The current ABAP program "/SAPDMC/SAPLLSMW_OBJ_070" had to be terminated

  because it has

come across a statement that unfortunately cannot be executed.

The following syntax error occurred in program "/1CADMC/SAP_LSMW_READ_00000196

  " in include "/1CADMC/SAP_LSMW_READ_00000196 " in

line 0:

"The program "/1CADMC/SAP_LSMW_READ_00000196" is not Unicode-compatible"

", according to its program attributes."

The LSMW is working perfectly since 10 years but suddenly this runtime error occured.

what could be the reason. Please share your thoughts or suggestions...

10 years ago, SAP did not even have unicode.

Had you created the LSMW object from scratch or did you get this object from someone else and  imported it to your system?

When does the error occur?

what does the syntax check in SE38 for  report  /1CADMC/SAP_LSMW_READ_00000196  tell you?

From where do you read? Application server or presentation server (your PC)?

if application server, then tell the details or better make a screen shot of  LSMW step 7 Specify Files
