how can one open the editor by clicking the program name

You should be more clear , hope the below code is what u want,

call function ‘editor_program’

Exporting

Display = ‘x’

Program = programname.

Hi,

Just double click the program name you want to edit. It will navigate to the program. Take it in change mode if it is a custom development.

Generally you can go to transaction codes SE38 or SE80 to open the program in edit mode.
