Hi all,
I am trying for a drop down list in a table control. The table control is having two drop down lists in it.
The second drop down list values are based on the value selected in the first drop down. Means different rows of the second drop down will contain different values in its drop down, based up on the value selected in the first drop down. In some rows the second drop down may be empty, if first drop down is not selected or left empty.
I have used the FCODE for the first drop down and in that FCODE I have populated the second drop down. But the Issue is: For all the rows of the table control in the second drop down the values are updating. But the values has to be updated in the same row only, for which user has selected a value in the first drop down of the table control.
I am using VRM_SET_VALUES function module to fill the drop down list in the FCODE.
The Issue I am finding here is in the above said FM we can give the VRM_ID which is nothing but the field name in the table control. As I pass the VRM_ID, System is simply updating all the second drop downs in all the rows with the given values. But I need to update only the row in which user has selected the first drop down.
Also If I write the Code in POV, The issue I am facing is I cant find the value selected in the first drop down of the table control, Again I cannot only bind to a single row of a table control.
I have searched almost all SDN forums, But most of them are explaining only to fill a single drop down in a table control. But my requirement is a bit different.
Hoping this is possible in SAP.
Thanks and Regards,
Meshack Prasan.

May be your search didnt hit this wiki post. http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/ABAP/Filtering+F4+Help+values+in+Table+control,+based+on+other+...
Note the function DYNP_GET_STEPL

Hi Kesavadas,
Thanks for the reply.
The link you have sent is only working for F4 help not for the drop down box.
If we are using drop down, the FM DYNP_GET_STEPL is not returning any value.
But the same is working fine with Normal F4 help.
But here I need the same logic for a drop down box.
I think F4 helps will be filled when user requests for F4 help, so the above FM is returning the value of Index in which F4 is selected.
But in the case of drop down, we need to fill the drop down initially only.( Means once user selects first drop down). In that FCODE the above FM is not returning any value.

Hi all,
I am closing the thread as I think the same is not possible using Drop Downs.
If any body thinks that it is possible and have done the same requirement, Please post me.
Thanks and Regards,
Meshack Prasan Appikatla.
