difference between sap script and smart form.

pls tell me what is the difference between sap script and smart form.

SAP script is a separate package but smart forms is just a function

you can even populate your internal tables in your smart forms but u cannot do this in script

it is more flexible with more functionality then sap script

Differences between Smartforms and SAPscript

a) Multiple page formats are possible in smartforms which is not the case in SAPScripts

b) It is possible to have a smartform without a main window .

c) Routines can be written in smartforms tool.

d) Smartforms generates a function module when activated.

e) Smartforms can create web enable forms like XML

f) smartforms itself contine subroutine pools need not to main separetly like in case of scripts

Hi Vikas,

While coming to the difference between smart forms and scripts

1. Smart form can be reusable.

2. Smart forms doesnot have control commands.

3. In smart forms we can have each and every page with different orientations like PORTRAIT or LANDSCAPE.

4. A function module is automatically generated by the system which acts as a mediator between program and the form. But in Scripts we have to call the Function module in the program level itself.

5. The main difference is SCRIPTS are client dependent where as SMART FORMS are client independent Which means that we can use the same script in other client also.

SAPScript is client dependent where as Smartforms are not

SAPScript is Language dependent where as Smartforms are not.

Smartforms are easy to use than SAPScript.

Now we have Interactive Forms which is the latest one.

Try to implement Interactive Forms.
