Hi Guys,
I have one question. When i debug my code,most of the time it opens in the new debugging mode but at times it opens in the old debugging mode and i am not able to change the mode to the debugging mode. It says " No external debugging". Why does such a thing happens? Just curious.

Hi,
If you are using ECC version of SAP you can debug your program new debugger as well as old debugger also. you can change the debugger which ever you want.
Utilities--->Change the debugger

Hi,
I am infact using ECC. Most of the time debugging is on the new mode but at times it opens on the old debuggging mode and it is then i am not able to switch to the new mode.
If the debugging is opened on the new mode, i am able to switch between new and old without any problem.
Is there any specifc reason?

i think the problem is that you opened too many sessions - so there is no more session available for your debugger!

Guys, you are right. I closed few sessions and now it opens in new debugging. Thanks

Hi,
Actually at any pt of time you can open maximum 6 sessions for a login.
In ECC 6.0 new session opens up for debugging which is only possible if 5 or less than 5 session sare open for a login.
Sometime all 6 sessions are open then "New debugging mode" can not be generated as it requires New sesion .In this case system goes for the "Old debugger" which tkes the same session
on which the debugging is applied.
I hope ur query is solved.Pls revert in case of quries.
