Is the DataSource (RSO2) cross-client ?
I tried searching through help site. Could not locate. Can anyone please post the link for it?

Try searching the forum for 'generic datasources'. You will find ample information.
If the datasources you are looking for are not RSO2, then you won't find them here. Your best bet is 'metadata repository' to look for datasources available both business content and installed.
