can u tell me how do we create an data element?

what are the things we need to puti into this?

hi,

1. goto se11

2. select data type radiobutton, enter the name of the data element

3. choose the Data element radiobutton from the popup.

4. enter the short description

5. Choose the domain if exists else enter a domain name and double click on the field, this will tak you to the screen to create a domain. Once the domain is created activate the domain and come back to the data element screen.

6.lets say you choose char14 as domain (this already exists and no need to create it. you can also give built in data types ( call the F4 help for the possible values)

7. Then select the Field label tab and give the short , medium and long descriptions and the heading as well.

8. Save , check for consistency ( ctrl + f2 )and then activate the data element (ctrl + f3 ).

hi ,

do like this,

goto se11-->choose data type ->give the name with zdataelement->give the short desc--->give the domain such as zdomain ---> double click it ->it will ask for the creation>yes-->short desc, data type ,no of chars,decimal places>come back --->give the length and label....

check it and activate it...

hi,

to create a data element:

follow the steps below:

Goto SE11,

--> select data type radiobutton and click on create button.

-->now select data element radiobutton,then give shortdescription,and create domain and double click on the domain name to give the length and type .

domain is attached to the dataelement .

-->then activate domain and then go back and activate dataelement.

Hi,

Data element's are used to specify the data type of the field in the table.

We can creat it in two ways.

1.By using SE11

2.From table.

From Table:-

1.type the data element name, save and double click on data element name.

2.click on ok.

3.give the short description.

4.you need to creat domain for each and every data element.

5.give the domain name,save it and double click on domain.

6.click on ok.

7.give the short description of domain.

8.specify the data type and size.

9.save,activate and come back.

10.Activate the data element and come back.

If you observe the field then the size and length wouls appears automatically.
