Go to SE63 -> Translation -> ABAP Objects-> Long texts(Documentation) -> C6 F1 Help -> DE Data elements

Hi Biby,

The reasons would be either the data element was is not acive... or In SE63,along with object name you have to select Translation Area,without this you can't proceed forward.

Let me know your issue status after this check

Pawan.

Hi,

You have to add your data element first to your worklist by clicking "MY Worklist" button SE63.

Give your Data element name in the next screen in the object name and press the cancel button

It should give you a popup to save that in a worklist.. Select  the source and target language correctly and then press the green arrow button at the buttom.

Then try to do the same way that you have been trying. It should open a different screen now.

Hi Biby,

please make sure, that the documentation exists in the source language.

I'm always using translation area 999999 and it's working fine for me. I'm getting the error message only, if the source object (data element) has no documentation in the source language.

There is no need for me to add the element to a worklist.

You can validate your documentation language with SE61 for class data element, your source language and your data element. Or you can find an entry in table DOKIL for id DE and your data element as object. You can see the existing documentation language here.

Regards,

Klaus
