Hi Priya,
There are many phases of testing involved in an archiving project.
1. Pilot phase: Check all the customizings done for the archiving objects and verify residence times etc. with the functional consultants/core team of the client.
2. Business Testing: Ask the core team of users to test a complete business process cycle in the archived system and compare the results with that of a non-archived system
Also Users need to ensure that a check is performed to verify that no required data has been archived.
3. Report testing: Testing of archive-enabled reports (if any) for data mis-match/performance etc.
4. Validation Testing: Verify the archived data by comparing it with the non-archived system.
As far as documentation is concerned, a testing template is to be used for different tests performed.
A sign-off document by the customer after each test phase can be considered as a UAT document.

Kaushik.

Hi Priya,
UAT is not the sign off document but it is User Acceptance test.
In Archiving, UAT we have to document how the archived document is retreived by a user. We will document all the retreival technic available for archiving object. For example: FI_DOCUMENT- we can retreive through SARI, FB03 and read program. In UAT we will document step by step of all above mentioned process.
Reward if it benifits.
-Thanks,
Ajay
