Hello all.
I know I can extend the metamodel and database tables but is it possible to add custom fields to the BOPF modeling UI itself? Either in Sapgui or eclipse.
I would like to create a model which fetches data from customizable criteria and the most logical would be to add these criteria to the metamodel directly. However, then I would need to access these fields also from the UI.
Thanks a lot.

Hello Martin,
as far as I understand your requirement, you would like to add a custom field on the BOPF Eclipse Design Time or the transaction BOBX?
At the moment, this is not possible. The BOPF metamodel can't be extended and also the design time tools do not support that. Thus I think you have to continue using your existing customizing table approach.
Best regards
Tilmann

Hi Matrin Jonsson,
You can model these fields as transient fields in your BO, and create a determination that will populate them.
an additional option, I your UI is based on FBI, you can create a UI structure in your FBI view, and add these fields there. for this case the logic to populate the fields should be implemented in an FBI view mapper class.

Matan.

Hello Tilmann.
Yes, you have understood my requirement correctly. I guessed this is not possible but imagine which nice domain specific models we could build if we could.
Anyway, the disruption is not big, own customizing does the trick. It would just be a bit simpler if the extra info was directly in the model configuration.
Thanks a lot.
Martin
