creating new package

Hi All ,

I am implement the OSS Note 1137623 , I need to create a package

Transaction : SE80

Package Name : ID-FI-KR-LR

Description : South Korea FI Localization

Application Component : FI-LOC

Package Properties:

Surrounding Package : APPL

Allowed Object Types : No Restrictions

All Checkbox in Package properties : Un Checked

Transport Properties:

Transprt Layer : SCAP

Software Component : SAP_APPL

Changes Recorded : Checked

But the problem is I am not able to set Transprt Layer and Surrounding Package properties with the given , Do i need to consult the basis regarding this or is something i have to do from my side .

Your suggestions will be appriciated .

First of all change the package name starting with Z and then try.

After you have created package ID-FI-KR-LR, you have to maintain package APPL, and add existing package ID-FI-KR-LR. That will automatically set "APPL" in field "surrounding package" of ID-FI-KR-LR.

Why can't you enter the transport layer?

Thanks for your responses . I dont have authorisation s to maintain package 'APPL' . I will get it sorted , And keep posted ,Hopefully should be fine thereafter .

I Get an error When I set transport layer as "SCAP" which is not in F4 values .

I don't understand. When I create the package, on first screen I enter transport layer "any non existing transport layer" on 4 characters, and I don't get error, and package is saved successfully.

Hi Sandra ,

Thanks again . When I looked at the messaage it says something like only 'system admin can use transport layer apart from the list'. I go back to Basis and find it .
