Create xls file on SAP Application Server

Hi,

I'm filling an internal table with data from a couple of database tables, Once I've sorted the internal table I want to write the contents of it to the SAP Application server as an Excel file(.xls). Can any one help, I've tried to do this but when I open the xls file from the SAP Application server, all the data is there but the format of the data is completly wrong.
