Create Outbound IDoc with Serialization

Hi experts, 

I need help understanding and implementing the following process:
- creating a MATMAS IDoc
- creating a CLFMAS IDoc

But I need the MATMAS IDoc to actually be created before the CLFMAS. I created a serialization group in BD44, but how do I actually use it in my program?

Today I can create my IDocs via the FM MASTER_IDOC_DISTRIBUTE but how do I insert this serialization?

There is a sample program provided by SAP but it is old, poorly explained and poorly written 🙂
